The Rancho California Water District (RCWD) has contracted Enterprise Automation to upgrade their water distribution system’s existing SCADA system to a Vijeo Citect-based system with an enterprise Historian. RCWD’s distribution network includes approximately 140 remote sites with Schneider Electric M340 PLCs and I/O. The legacy SCADA system consists of a range of software components which require several specialty communications drivers. Enterprise Automation is tasked with implementing the SCADA system with a single software platform.
Enterprise Automation’s scope of work includes: legacy architecture reverse engineering, programming specification, computing and virtualization specification, network design, Citect programming, acceptance testing, and commissioning. The SCADA system includes a centralized automatic pump station control routine that maintains water level in district zones while minimizing energy expenditure. Remote access will be provided by a next generation firewall (NGFW) with two factor authentication.
