Enterprise Automation has been awarded several phased projects with B. Braun Medical related to converting their sterilization batch control system from Foxboro I/A to Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs, which will be paired with a platform of several Wonderware products.
B. Braun already converted three of their 15 sterilizers to this platform. The first phase involves implementing a virtualized Wonderware platform, with expanded architecture and software version upgrades. Phase 1 also includes design and build of a custom PLC panel with space for 34 redundant PLCs. The second phase is centered on converting another sterilizer.
The scope of work includes legacy system inspection, revised architecture design, control and panel hardware retrofit planning, partial conversion from InTouch to System Platform, extensive internal testing, installation, and startup.
Technologies include: Allen Bradley ControlLogix redundant PLCs, RSLogix5000, Remote I/O with redundant ControlNet, Ethernet/IP, Motorola Symbol Barcode Scanner, Lantronix serial converters, Wonderware InTouch 2012, System Platform 2012 R2, InBatch, Historian, Historian Client, Wonderware Information Server, Microsoft SSRS reports, VMware virtualization, redundant Microsoft Server 2012 Domain Controllers and RDS.
