- CSI AVEVA Application Server 2020 R2 Exam
The Control Expert professional certification provided me the opportunity to dive deeper into a wide range of PLC communication protocols as well as to become an expert on M580 PLCs which I hadn’t worked with previously. Becoming certified as an AVEVA Application Developer allowed me to become more familiar with galaxy management and the new features of Application Server 2020 R2.

- Engineer-In-Training
The Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is my first step towards becoming a Professional Engineer, and gives me a standard of competency, ethics, and quality assurance to hold myself to as I grow in my career.
I recommend taking the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (required for the EIT) during senior year of college or shortly thereafter, as the exam covers coursework from all four years, and memory declines over time.

- Schneider Control Expert
I thought that I knew Control Expert pretty well going into the test, but after taking it I realized the full complexity and depth of knowledge that is required to be a Control Expert expert. On the surface level, one might consider only the function block coding, ladder logic, or structural text required to run the PLC. However, on a deeper level there are factors such as communications protocols and intricate hardware specifications that truly determine how well a system will function. I have learned that these details are what separate good systems integrators from great systems integrators.
