Enterprise Automation will soon commence the design and implementation of a controls upgrade for the Dam release valve system at Sweetwater Authority’s Robert A Perdue Water Treatment Plant. The system will be integrated into the existing control system utilizing Schneider Electric’s Advantys I/O with a Unity based Modicon Quantum PLC and CitectSCADA operator interface software. Scope for the project includes field studies, panel design and supply, control description development, PLC programming, SCADA configuration, acceptance testing, and commissioning. Sweetwater Authority owns and operates Loveland Reservoir, Sweetwater Reservoir, a brackish groundwater desalination facility and deep freshwater wells. Water obtained in each of these areas is influenced by the 230-square-mile Sweetwater River Watershed, a land stretching from the Cleveland National Forest to San Diego Bay.
