Enterprise Automation has been contracted to upgrade the SCADA infrastructure at Sweetwater’s Perdue Water Treatment Plant. The changes are associated with building improvements, including a new server room, and relocation of critical water quality laboratory instrumentation.
SCADA infrastructure improvements include: new 60’ wide remote I/O panel, cutover of I/O from legacy remote I/O system, revised SCADA and enterprise networking, server rack design, virtualization upgrade, upgrade of CitectSCADA from v6.1 to v7.2, revised master PLC programming, phased system cutovers, startup, and formal training.
The wide variety of systems being altered requires detailed planning and coordination with Sweetwater, vendors, and several involved contractors. The scope of work includes a rigorous planning process to ensure plant startup is drama free – a particular center of excellence in EA’s service offering, with a long successful track record as proof.
Technologies include (a largely Schneider Electric offering): Modicon Quantum PLC, Advantys remote I/O, Unity Pro PLC programming, CitectSCADA, Vijeo Historian, Ampla MES, Blackbox network switches, ModbusTCP, VMware for virtualization, Microsoft Domain for SCADA, fiber optic backbone for SCADA networking.
